Orange Marmalade Salmon with Yellow rice and Broccoli

“I am a better person when I have less on my plate.”
― Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat, Pray, Love

Today’s dinner will be tasty and affordable. I grabbed the things needed to achieve this meal from my local “Shop rite”. This meal is fast only required a small amount of indigence and cost me less than $20 !

Time: 1 hour

Serves 2 ( Serving size 2 fillet )

Serve with yellow rice and baby broccoli

Ingredients

1/4 cup of orange Marmalade

1/2 teaspoon of salt

1/2 freshly grounded black pepper

2 (5-ounce) skin on salmon fillets

1/4 stick of butter

Steamed yellow season rice

Steamed baby broccoli

Cooking Instructions

Step 1 – Preheat oven to 350°.

Step 2 – Mix marmalade with black pepper, salt, and butter in a bowl, then place the bowl in a microwave. Let the bowl sit and cool. Arrange salmon fillets in a foil-lined baking sheet with cooking spray to prevent it from sticking. Distribute marmalade mix evenly on each salmon. Then place into oven at 350°for 25 mins.

Step 3- Prepare rice and broccoli while salmon is baking.

K.Lee’s side notes

Salmon can be a tricky meal to make. I recommend watching while baking to make sure it is not burning the skin on the back. The next time you are ready to buy Mc Donald’s, Popeye’s, Chinese food or any other fast food temptation reconsider a healthier option and a way to venture new recipes.

Essential Headphones/Earbuds

One of my most favorite things to do is listen to music. It is important to me because it keeps me calm, hype me up and brighten up my day. In September 2016 the headphone market change. Because the advance in technology our simple thing like headphone became a fashion statement along with the increase in price. I am an individual who likes updated technology but not the high cost.

Once Apple released its Airpods in 2016 it alter the way people listened to music. Wires where no longer a factor for people, the convenient and free feeling headphones swept the market. Catching everyone eyes except for mine. This is because I am a price conscious individual and I believe everyone should be. Being a price conscious person will cause you to separate yourself from big name brand material product. Once that is done individuals will be able to see that many products are similar and we are only paying for a company brand recognition.

Back in January, I began the search for Bluetooth Earbuds for an affordable price with an all black sleek look. Searching on Amazon I came to find tons of wireless earbuds for half the price of Apple Air pods. After reading numerous review I settled with “Enacfire E18 latest Bluetooth 5.0 earbuds”  I am very satisfied with these earbuds. The sound is clear and it also has a built-in microphone.”Enacfire E18 latest Bluetooth 5.0 earbuds” are on Amazon for $45.99. My goal is to save money not waste it.

I believe this was a great investment because I was able to satisfy my void for wireless headphone and also saved money. I am not knocking people who brought air pods. I am just saying how can you beat same product for an affordable priced ? The point of this post is to encourage people to go out and make smart decisions when purchasing products.

My first Maternity Photo shoot

My cousin is having her first child and I had the luxury to do her maternity shoot. This was a good opportunity for me to be creative and make a unique setting for this special moment. I am the queen of finding an affordable way to accomplish each goal.

Pre Shoot- Before the day of the shoot, I began to do research on how to achieve a photo shoot background. After many hours on Pinterest, I was able to find this white background with sparkling lights and white sheer curtains. I wanted to imitate this look for a low price and add a twist to it. After finding inspiration I then went to Walmart to purchase curtains, white fabric and dark blue Christmas decorations and new white LED light bulb for the lighting. These items were less than $40 bucks to purchase.

After purchasing the material my boyfriend and I began to create the setting for the shoot. We first hanged the white cloth than the sheer curtain over that. I brought 2 panels of a sheer curtain to create a split look. After hanging the curtain I then wanted to add the Blue Christmas tree ornaments to the curtains. There will always be a set back no matter what project I undergoing. I was stomped on how to apply the ornaments to the curtains. Turning to my last option I taped the ornaments to the curtain. This tactic did not last during the shoot. It began to fall off the curtain this was a minor set back. But this did not affect the shoot at all. I was able to accomplish this shoot affordably. Here is a couple of photo from my first creative maternity shoot

I am always looking for new and affordable ways to achieve a bomb.com looks. The hair I used is ” Harlem125 Kima Volum Kanekalon Natural Touch Braid” This hair comes in 60″ but cut in half. I used only 2 1/2 packs. Each pack costing no more than $5.99. This hair is not pre loop. This hair was not the best hair but It got the job job done. To keep this hair looking fresh I rolled the ends of the hair with rollers and dipped in boiling hot water. This hair style is very essentials to me because it is affordable and quick. The hot water helps set the blend hair type in fabulous lushes curls. This video is two years old and I plan to keep updating my crochet routine.
